5 signs your child is ready for one-to-one mentoring
We're often asked the question the other way around: "my child is talented, should they move to Premium?" The real question isn't skill level, it's something else: has your child already outgrown a classic class format.
It's not about level, it's about the spark
Our Solo plan (from 249 CHF/month) teaches coding: a teacher trained in our method, a structured programme, step-by-step progression. It's the right choice for the vast majority of children, including fast learners. Premium (999 CHF/month) is different in nature, not just intensity: it's direct mentoring with the founder, an EPFL engineer, designed for the child who already has that spark and wants to build something real over time.
Sign 1: they already code on their own, unprompted
The most reliable signal isn't what happens during a session, it's what happens outside of it: a child who opens Scratch or Python on a random afternoon without being asked, just to try out an idea. It's not an assignment they were given, it's something coming from them.
Sign 2: they ask questions you can no longer answer
Not "how do I make a website", but sharper, harder-to-dodge questions: "why does my game slow down when there are lots of objects on screen", "how do real developers organise their code". This kind of question signals curiosity that goes beyond a standard programme.
Sign 3: they have a project idea bigger than what they can currently build
Many advanced children carry "an idea" — an app, a game, a website — that they can't yet build alone, but have been thinking about for a while. That's exactly what Premium mentoring is designed to support: turning that idea into a real, published project over 12 months.
Sign 4: they enjoy competing, not just progressing
Some children are motivated by pushing themselves further, not just by steady progress: entering a competition, aiming for a visible result. Premium includes preparation for Swiss computing olympiads and junior hackathons for children interested in that format — not a requirement, but an option that resonates with certain profiles.
Sign 5: you, as a parent, are ready to be involved in the follow-up
Premium includes quarterly check-ins with parents, not just with the child. It's designed for families who want to follow a real trajectory — orientation, competitions, projects — not just receive an end-of-month report.
Not sure yet?
It's normal not to know before trying. A 30-minute initial diagnostic call with the child and parents lets us assess together whether Premium is the right fit — and if it isn't, we'll tell you honestly and point you toward Solo, which remains the excellent choice for most children. Premium also includes a first-session guarantee: a full refund if it doesn't convince you.
Want to discuss it directly? The Premium page lets you book a 15-minute call with the founder to assess your situation.
